What is the Transcultural Caravan?

A hub of global thinking

We believe that tolerance and a willingness to resolve conflicts is necessary but not sufficient to meet twenty-first century’s economic, political, cultural, and other challenges. What we need is a new type of leadership and the capacity to cooperate as well as to define globally shared interests and values!

Therefore, we have designed an extraordinary project encouraging research, a worldwide dialogue and the spread of sustainable idea for our common future: the Transcultural Caravan. We understand the future as a process of the development of the present on which foreseeable planning tasks for our society are based. Here lie the requirements for action.

To gain deeper insights into the fundamental ideas and targets of the project, have a look at the Transcultural Caravan’s Three Pillars below, our video on the right, and at our CORE DOCUMENT from Prof. Josef Wieland.

We are very happy to have you here on our website!

»A globally created and accepted moral order will not amount to a generalization of an already existing one.«

We are looking forward to working with university departments from all over the world which are interested in topics of research related to ours, be it offering courses on transcultural management or empirical research projects on globalization, urbanization, organizational cultures et cetera. Contact us!

Researcher

We are establishing a platform where researchers from all over the world dealing with topics of the Transcultural Caravan can support and benefit from one another. Furthermore, we are looking for visiting faculties!

Conference

We are keen to organize extraordinary conferences such as our Transcultural Leadership Summit! The idea is to further encourage the debate, to bring together research, and to inform. We see Friedrichshafen, a city in the heart of Europe, as a caravanserai for people from all over the world to meet.

Lecture

Our goal is to shape global leaders with a transcultural awareness and a global identity. One way we are going do this is by offering summer schools and giving lectures, also in cooperation with our partners.

Publication

We see this website as the starting point of a dialogue that will be continued in the future. Furthermore, classical publications such as our book »Transculturality – Leadership, Management and Governance« serve the purpose of spreading ideas and theories to tackle the twenty-first century's challenges.
