Symposium + Summit 2018
What is the Transcultural Caravan?

A hub of global thinking.

We believe that tolerance and a willingness to resolve conflicts is necessary but not sufficient to meet twenty-first century’s economic, political, cultural, and other challenges. What we need is a new type of leadership and the capacity to cooperate as well as to define globally shared interests and values!

Therefore, we have designed an extraordinary project encouraging research, a worldwide dialogue and the spread of sustainable idea for our common future: the Transcultural Caravan. We understand the future as a process of the development of the present on which foreseeable planning tasks for our society are based. Here lie the requirements for action.

We are very happy to have you here on our website!

The three pillars of the Transcultural Caravan

Knowledge
Thinking of joining a research project or establishing your own individual one? We are very keen to support you in varying contexts – academically as well as financially.
Network
Always wanted to participate in a worldwide dialogue on one of the most relevant topics of the twenty-first century? We provide the required platform and enable encounters.
Exchange
Looking for opportunities to share your findings or to learn more about the concept of transculturalism? We organize lectures and arrange conferences as well as summer schools.

Furthermore, we plan to establish our own journal in the near future.

Research project

We would like to encourage you in implementing either your own individual research project or one in association with us. Zeppelin University's Humboldt year, for example, is a perfect fit here. You can count on our support!

Connect!

Organization

Whether you are a local enterprise, a globally engaged multinational company or a non-profit organization: get in touch with us. We are very keen on working with partners such as you – bridging theory and practice.

University

We are looking forward to working with university departments from all over the world which are interested in topics of research related to ours, be it offering courses on transcultural management or empirical research projects on globalization, urbanization, organizational cultures et cetera. Contact us!

Researcher

We are establishing a platform where researchers from all over the world dealing with topics of the Transcultural Caravan can support and benefit from one another. Furthermore, we are looking for visiting faculties!

Exchange
Looking for opportunities to share your findings or to learn more about the concept of transculturalism? We organize lectures and arrange conferences as well as summer schools.

Debate!

Conference

We are keen to organize extraordinary conferences such as our Transcultural Leadership Summit! The idea is to further encourage the debate, to bring together research, and to inform. We see Friedrichshafen, a city in the heart of Europe, as a caravanserai for people from all over the world to meet.

Lecture

Our goal is to shape global leaders with a transcultural awareness and a global identity. One way we are going do this is by offering summer schools and giving lectures, also in cooperation with our partners.

Publication

We see this website as the starting point of a dialogue that will be continued in the future. Furthermore, classical publications such as our book »Transculturality – Leadership, Management and Governance« serve the purpose of spreading ideas and theories to tackle the twenty-first century's challenges.
